I think a big reason that we are not getting more people at simpleyouth is because ... well to start off i think the leaders ourselves are emotionally and spiritually ready. but i feel like we are bad spiritual fathers and mothers of the people we already have in our youth group and god is sort of telling us that if we cant take care of who we already have why would he trust us with more people.
Matthew 25:21
"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'
I have this thought that the people that are in our youth group now will eventually HAVE to be the leaders because of all the people we could potentially have. potentially. not a deffinite word. god is giving us a chance. to allow us to make a big difference in the youth of our community.

i really think we just stop being in our little bubble(myself more included than anyone) and talk to them and love on them... really focus on them for those 2 and a half hours we have with them. (i recently have been sitting with other people than our "group". and not just that but also really and truly praying for them. not just saying we will and then never actually doing it. then after that i believe with prayer and thanksgiving present our request for more people to God.

please correct me if you feel im wrong. im in the point of my life where correction needs to be given so i dont get bitten in the butt when i get older and it really lies on my shoulders

man, who knows who's "right". What you're saying sounds really good and makes a lot of sense. The good news is that even when it is really on your shoulders (and it is now on many levels) you still have the grace of God around for experimentation and mistakes to be made. The bottom line for me is that we are on the cusp of something much larger than any of us have seen yet. I feel it in my spirit, gut, heart - choose your word for that part of us we can't actually find but know is there.
